Kanpur: A car turned into fireball at the flyover between Rama Devi and Jajmau here on Friday morning.
According to the reports, the driver was driving the Mercedes car as he was directed towards the Chakeri airport. He was to pick someone from the airport.
Just as he reached near. JK I area the car started burning at about 11 a. m. The driver anyhow came out of the car that belonged to the managing director of a famed hotel in the city. He happens to be a resident of the Cantt area here.
After the driver's exit from the burning car, it soon turned into a fireball. A fire tender doused the fire. It was due to short-circuit into the car's engine.
The traffic on the overbridge got disrupted for a short time. The driver thanked god for his safe exit. But the owner must have been repenting over this big loss, as road users said.
