BAKU, December 30. /TASS/: Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered incumbent President Ilham Aliyev as a candidate for president.
"To register Ilham Aliyev, who was nominated by the Eni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan - TASS) party, as a candidate for president at the February 7 extraordinary presidential election," it said in a resolution.
As many as 50,000 signatures have been collected in support of Aliyev’s candidacy, whereas at least 40,000 are required under law.
BAKU, December 28. /TASS/: Azerbaijan and Armenia are not far from concluding a peace agreement, and Baku deems it necessary to take results-oriented actions, Azerbaijani Special Presidential Representative Elchin Amirbayov said.
"What is important to understand is that, at this crucial stage in negotiations, where apparently we’re not that much far away from the final agreement, [is that] we do need a result-oriented exercise," Amirbayov said, as quoted by The Guardian.
BAKU, December 14. /TASS/: Azerbaijan and Armenia are closer to a peace agreement than ever, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at the press conference in Baku, where he is on an official visit.
BAKU, Nov 19 (NNN-AGENCIES) –Azerbaijan refused to participate in normalization negotiations with Armenia that were planned in the US this month because of what Baku considered Washington’s “biased” view.
“We consider it impossible to hold the proposed meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington on Nov 20, 2023,” Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
BAKU, November 8. /TASS/: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that his country does not need a new war with Armenia.
"We do not need a new war. We have achieved what we were striving for, we have restored international law, we have restored historical justice, we have restored our national dignity, we have shown the enemy his place," he said at a military parade in the town of Khankendi in Nagorno-Karabakh on the occasion of the third anniversary of Azerbaijan's victory in the Second Karabakh War.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has raised his nation’s flag over the capital city of a former breakaway region in a ceremony reaffirming Baku’s control over it.
The Azerbaijani leader delivered a speech and raised the flag over the city, which is known as Khankendi by Azerbaijan and Stepanakert by Armenians, the presidential office said Sunday.
BAKU, October 5. /TASS/: Baku is ready for talks with Yerevan on a trilateral Azerbaijan-Armenia-EU platform in Brussels, the Azerbaijani leader's aide, Hikmet Hajiyev, has said.
"Azerbaijan is ready for trilateral meetings on the Azerbaijan-Armenia-EU platform in Brussels soon," Hajiyev wrote on his page on the social media X (formerly Twitter).
Hajiyev explained that Azerbaijan had refused to go to the meeting scheduled for October 5 in Granada because of France's biased position and objections to Turkey's participation in these talks.

22 September 2023; AA: The Turkish-Russian Joint Observation Center detected 258 cease-fire violations by Armenia in Karabakh since January 2021.
Established to monitor and observe the cease-fire in Karabakh, the Turkish-Russian Joint Observation Center has continued its activities since Jan. 30, 2021.
The center has been operating with the regulation signed between Türkiye and Russia after the second Karabakh War, which resulted in the victory of Azerbaijan.
