RIYADH, Nov 11 (NNN-SPA) – Chinese telecommunication company, China Mobile International (CMI), signed yesterday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU), to advance the digital media ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
The signing ceremony was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, between the Chinese company and Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA), Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC), and Whale Cloud.
Under the MoU, the parties will collaborate to provide smart digital media solutions, including digital media, data centre and cloud services, said the SBA.
At the signing ceremony, the CMI showcased its digital media solutions, including TV-top boxes and applications tailored for the SBA.
SBA CEO, Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Harthy, highlighted SBA’s commitment to building a world-class media service and content platform, utilising the best practices in the global media industry, to provide world-class digital information services.
The CMI’s industry expertise, advanced technologies and rich experience will help the media industry to realise its digital transformation vision, he added.
For his part, Alex Lee, managing director of the CMI Middle East company, said, the company continues to enhance its investment in network infrastructure across the Middle East region.
Calling the SBA “an important partner,” Lee said, the joint project will set a benchmark for digital transformation of the media industry, adding, “we would encourage more projects with influential social and economic benefits.”
