India: Lockdown leaves roads still & empty of vehicles

KANPUR: Lockdown leaves the highway bridge nearly empty of vehicles. The bridge that connects the eastern side to Delhi route finds scant trucks and carriers moving on both sides. Down the bridge the wide road also remains vacant owing to the absence of vehicles and the movement of humans. Even the bird's voice does not echo in the empty afternoon.

Who knows about the end of the lockdown? The road that used to be crowded looks totally different from its earlier position. In the morning hours, some humans are found to be walking amid relaxation. The veg and fruits vendors appear with fear on their sullen faces.

People realise the change during these critical times. The coronavirus has brought a drastic change in life. Though the heavy vehicles were running, these are numbered. Without the public movement on the road, only silence prevails and this calmness tells its own bizarre story. One said we used to think of the perilous past days but this present-day seems like that in a pandemic.
