India: Central vista project is criminal wastage: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, May 7 (PTI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday attacked the Union government over the central vista project, terming it a "criminal wastage" and asked the dispensation to focus on people's lives.

The redevelopment project of the Central Vista -- the power corridor of the country -- envisages a new triangular Parliament building, a common Central Secretariat and the revamping of the three-km-long Rajpath from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate and new residences for the prime minister and the vice president.

New Delhi, May 6 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the national capital received 730 metric tonnes of oxygen on May 5.

In a letter, Kejriwal said that it was for the first time the national capital received more than 700 metric tonnes of the life-saving gas.

Mumbai, May 5 (PTI) In a bid to provide succor from scourge of COVID-19 pandemic, the Reserve Bank on Wednesday came out with Resolution Framework 2.0 under which individuals and small businesses having exposure up to Rs 25 crore can opt for loan restructuring if they had not availed the earlier scheme.

In case of those who had availed the loan restructuring under the earlier scheme, RBI permitted the banks and lending institutions to modify the plans and increase the period of moratorium.

Embassy spokesperson regrets India's denial of Chinese telecom companies to conduct 5G trials

NEW DELHI, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India on Wednesday expressed concern and regret that Chinese telecommunications companies have not been permitted to conduct 5G trials with Indian telecom service providers.

In response to a media query on a notification issued Tuesday by India's Department of Telecommunications, Counselor Wang Xiaojian said "We noted relevant notification, and express concern and regret that Chinese telecommunications companies have not been permitted to conduct 5G trials with Indian telecom service providers in India."

India: Stalin appointed TN Chief Minister

Chennai, May 5 (PTI) Governor Banwarilal Purohit appointed DMK president M K Stalin as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after he submitted a letter on his election as legislature party leader, the Raj Bhavan said on Wednesday.

Stalin called on Purohit at the Raj Bhavan and "submitted a letter intimating of his election as the leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Legislature party."
