12 Killed, 11 Injured In Road Accident In Pakistan’s Sindh

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (NNN-APP) – At least 12 people were killed and 11 others injured last night, in a road accident in the Khairpur district of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, an official said.

Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ahmed Fawad Shah, told the media that, a passenger van and a car collided with each other near the Babarloi Bypass area of Khairpur, leaving seven people dead on the spot, and 16 others injured.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital.

Nepal Sending Plane To Repatriate Nepalis From Israel

KATHMANDU, Oct 12 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Nepali government is sending a plane to bring back Nepalis stranded in the latest round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a minister said yesterday.

A cabinet meeting decided to send a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines, for the rescue operation led by Foreign Minister, Narayan Prakash Saud, and the plane left for Israel last night.

350 Nepali nationals have registered with the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv, to return home.

Israel fails to mention India again despite ‘full support’

Nepal Declares National Mourning For Students Killed In Israel

KATHMANDU, Oct 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Nepali government decided yesterday, to observe a one-day national mourning for 10 Nepali students killed in the latest Palestinian-Israeli conflicts.

A cabinet meeting also decided to lower the national flag at half-mast during the national mourning today.

“The government has also decided to provide one million rupees (about 7,520 U.S. dollars) to family members of each of the deceased,” Rekha Sharma, minister for communication and information technology, told the media.

2 soldiers, 5 terrorists killed in intelligence-based operation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Two Pakistani soldiers and five terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based military operation in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the military said in a statement.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said Monday that the operation was conducted in Zhob district of the province to clear a hideout of terrorists.

Pakistan: Senior Taliban officials visit villages struck by earthquake that killed at least 2,000 people

ISLAMABAD (AP) — A senior Taliban delegation was visiting western Afghanistan’s Herat province on Monday in the aftermath of the powerful earthquake that killed at least 2,000 people over the weekend and flattened entire villages, a statement said.

Saturday’s magnitude 6.3 quake hit a densely populated area in Herat and was followed by strong aftershocks in what was one of the deadliest temblors to strike the country in two decades.

2 terrorists killed in military operation in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two terrorists were killed during an army operation in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the army has said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Zerber area of Kech district of the province on Saturday.

During the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists, the ISPR said, adding that two terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire.

Pakistan: Earthquakes kill over 2,000 in Afghanistan. People are using bare hands to recover dead and injured

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Powerful earthquakes killed at least 2,000 people in western Afghanistan, a Taliban government spokesman said Sunday. It’s one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike the country in two decades.

The figures couldn’t be independently verified, but if correct, the toll would eclipse that of an earthquake that hit eastern Afghanistan in June 2022, striking a rugged, mountainous region, flattening stone and mud-brick homes and killing at least 1,000 people.

11 Killed In Two Fire Mishaps In India

NEW DELHI, Oct 6 (NNN-PTI) – At least 11 persons died and around 40 were injured, in two separate fire incidents in India today, local media reported.

A massive fire broke out inside a multi-storey building, in the Goregaon area of financial capital, Mumbai, in the south-western Maharashtra state, killing seven persons and injuring nearly 40.

Five among the injured were said to be in critical condition, while four persons were discharged from the hospital after first aid.

Pakistan seeks orderly departure of illegal Afghans -ministry

ISLAMABAD, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Pakistan said on Friday that it would repatriate all illegal immigrants including hundreds of thousands of Afghan nationals in orderly phases rather than in one go.

Pakistan's announcement on Tuesday of a Nov. 1 deadline for people to leave or face forcible expulsion has frayed already soured relations with Afghanistan's Taliban rulers, who said the threat to force out Afghan migrants was "unacceptable".
