06 April 2022; MEMO: An Emirati Court has sentenced an Israeli woman to death on drug charges, her lawyer said on Wednesday, as Israel's Foreign Ministry vowed to work with its new Gulf partner to spare her, Reuters reports.

Fidaa Kiwan was arrested in Dubai last year for allegedly dealing 50 grams (0.11 pounds) of cocaine and 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of marijuana, her lawyer, Tami Ullmann, said.

Israel: Joint List MKs will not be a 'lifeline' for Naftali Bennett

07 April 2022; MEMO: Arab-Israeli MK Sami Abou Shehadah said yesterday that Balad Party will not be "lifeline" to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

Speaking to the Nazareth-based Radio Al Shams, Abou Shehadah said that his party "will not provide a safety net" for Bennett.

He said that the party will meet in the coming days to discuss "all the options available to us," stressing that his party will also not help former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel gov't loses majority as MK withdraws from coalition

Israeli forces kill Palestinian in West Bank clashes, Palestinian sources say

JERUSALEM, April 1 (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian on Friday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, in clashes that broke out in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

The Israeli military said its soldiers were at immediate risk from a petrol bomb the man threw at them and had therefore opened fire. The military described the confrontation as "a riot" and Palestinian residents said clashes had broken out.

Israel: Daesh attacks stir concerns of a new security threat

31 March 2022; MEMO: A series of deadly shootings in Israel has sparked a new security threat to the Jewish State, after the Daesh militant group has claimed responsibility for two of them.

On Tuesday, Israel was rocked by a third attack in a series of unclaimed attacks in just eight days, which left 11 dead.

A relatively small number of Palestinians and Arab citizens in Israel joined the organisation before its defeat in Syria in 2019.

Israel deploys 1,000 extra soldiers across occupied Palestinian territories

31 March 2022; MEMO: Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz ordered the deployment of 1,000 extra soldiers on Wednesday to support the police in the occupied West Bank and on the nominal border with the besieged Gaza Strip, his office has confirmed. Although still in training, the soldiers will be deployed according to police requirements.

The Israeli occupation army has deployed 12 extra battalions in the occupied West Bank and two around the fenced "border" with Gaza since last week.

Israel raids West Bank refugee camp, Palestinian killed

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli forces raided a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank early Thursday, setting off a gun battle in which a Palestinian teenager was killed and several others were wounded, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Videos circulated online showed smoke rising from the center of the Jenin refugee camp as gunfire echoed in the background. Others appeared to show Israeli soldiers and Palestinian gunmen moving through the narrow streets.

Israeli forces arrest 5 in connection with deadly shooting

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israeli forces operating in the West Bank on Wednesday arrested five Palestinians allegedly involved in a deadly shooting attack in central Israel, where a Palestinian gunman used an assault rifle to kill five people.

Police identified the shooter as Diaa Hamarsheh, 27, from the Israeli-occupied West Bank village of Yabad. Police shot and killed him late Tuesday, putting an end to the shooting rampage.

Israel: Gunman kills at least 5 people in Tel Aviv suburb

29 March 2022; MEMO: A suspected Arab gunman killed at least five people in a Tel Aviv suburb on Tuesday before he was fatally shot, the national ambulance service said, in the latest of a string of deadly attacks in Israel.

Amateur video broadcast on Israeli television stations showed a man dressed in black and pointing an assault rifle walking down a street in Bnei Brak, a Jewish ultra-Orthodox city on the outskirts of Israel's commercial capital.
