Israeli troops kill 5 Palestinians, including 3 militants, as West Bank violence surges

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli forces on Friday killed five Palestinians, including three militants, across the West Bank, deepening a surge of violence in the occupied territory that has accompanied Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip.

The deaths raised to 205 the number of Palestinians killed in West Bank violence since the Gaza war erupted on Oct. 7, making it the deadliest period in the territory since the second Palestinian uprising in the early 2000s.

Israel refuses visit from UN Human Rights chief

17 November 2023; MEMO: Israel has rejected a request for a visit from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, amid growing concern over the escalation of violence in its war on Gaza.

According to Euro News, the Israeli mission to the United Nations in Geneva told the French news agency AFP in response to a question about Turk’s request to visit Israel, “Israel is not aware of any additional benefit to a visit from the High Commissioner at this time.”

Israel admits growing international pressure over its onslaught on Gaza

13 November 2023; MEMO: Israel’s Foreign Minister, on Monday, said international pressure on Israel would increase within two or three weeks over its onslaught on Gaza, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to the Jerusalem Post newspaper, Eli Cohen told a press conference that Israel has only two or three weeks before it loses its diplomatic battle on the international stage to stop the war on Gaza.

Israel tries to gain control of western Gaza amid intense resistance

15 November 2023; MEMO: Israeli tanks are trying to advance further into Gaza City on the 39th day of the war, under the cover of warplanes and Quadcopter drones which are opening fire on anyone moving in Gaza City’s streets.

Israeli tank movements are limited to the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, while continuing to try to reach Saraya Square.

Int’l Passenger Traffic At Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport Down 41.25 Percent In Oct: Report

JERUSALEM, Nov 15 (NNN-MA’AN) – The number of passengers taking international flights at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv fell by 41.25 percent year-on-year, in Oct, the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) said in a report yesterday.

Due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas that broke out on Oct 7, the airport only saw 1.17 million passengers passing through in the month, compared to almost two million in Oct, 2022.

Yesterday, the daily passenger count at the airport declined to 11,100, the lowest daily figure since the conflict erupted.

Israel suspends warfare in southern Gaza for four hours

TEL AVIV, November 13. /TASS/: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) suspended its military operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, near the border with Egypt, for four hours for humanitarian aid, said Avichay Adraee, the IDF spokesperson for the Arab media.

"We will allow a tactical pause in fighting in Rafah during the day today, namely from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. GMT - TASS) for humanitarian purposes," the spokesman wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in Arabic.

Israel warns Lebanon about entering war with reference to Gaza

12 November 2023; MEMO: Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned Lebanon on Saturday about getting into its war against the Gaza Strip and said Israel knows how to replicate its actions in Beirut, reports Anadolu Agency.

The comment was in reference to Palestinians walking with white flags along the coast toward the south on orders from the Israeli army.

"I see Gaza residents walking with white flags along the coast, heading south" he said.

Israel: Netanyahu says Hamas refused Israeli fuel offer for Gaza's Shifa hospital

Nov 12 (Reuters) - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel had offered fuel to Gaza's Al Shifa hospital, which suspended operations after running out of fuel, but that the militants had refused to receive it.

Netanyahu was asked by NBC News whether Israeli allegations that Hamas had a command post under Gaza's main hospital justified jeopardizing the lives of sick people and babies.
