Uzbekistan Announced Winners Of Int’l Bid To Build Three Solar Power Plants

TASHKENT, Dec 16 (NNN-XINHUA) – Energy companies from the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and France, have won tenders to build and operate three solar power plants, with a total capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Energy Ministry said, yesterday.

According to the results of the tender, Abu Dhabi-based Masdar was awarded to construct a 250 MW project in Bukhara region, with a proposal of 3,044 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour of produced electricity, the ministry said.

Masdar’s project will also have a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with a capacity of 62 MW, it added.

Türkiye’s Alarko company has won a project with a capacity of 150 MW, in the Namangan region, at 4,828 cents per kilowatt-hour, according to the announcement.

The project with a capacity of 100 MW in Khorezm region, was awarded to France’s Voltalia company, that offered 2,888 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour, the ministry said.
