Russia: Time for conservative banks long gone — Central Bank chief

Russian Central Bank Chief Elvira Nabiullina

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/: The time when financial institutions were conservative is over and done with, Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said at the Finopolis forum on Friday.

"The time when financial institutions were viewed as very conservative - reliable yet very conservative - organizations is certainly far in the past. Financial organizations are institutions whose competitive advantage is above all, people and technologies," she noted.

Technologies are evolving and changing constantly, the Russian top banker said. "Therefore, it is a big question - and financiers are fundamentally pragmatic people - what technology to bet on," she added.
