MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/: Russia recorded 12,354 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Sunday. The total number of cases has reached 21,304,554.
As many as 744 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, down from 1,657 the day before. Hospitalizations declined in 71 regions of the country and rose in eight regions.
Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 948 to 3,219,483 in the past day and St. Petersburg’s cases increased by 726 to 1,777,854.
Coronavirus recoveries
Russia’s coronavirus recoveries rose by 18,441 to 20,603,845 in the past 24 hours, the crisis center reported. As many as 26,130 recoveries were confirmed on Saturday. Recoveries increased by 892 to 3,026,112 in Moscow in the past day and by 375 to 1,731,489 in St. Petersburg.
Coronavirus death toll
Russia recorded 94 coronavirus fatalities in the past 24 hours. The total death toll has climbed to 388,901. Moscow’s fatalities surged by 21 to 46,396 in the past 24 hours and St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 deaths rose by 18 to 35,540.
