NEW YORK, October 4. /TASS/: The United States is set to announce on Tuesday a new $625 million military aid package for Ukraine that will include four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, the Associated Press news agency reported, citing US officials.

The Pentagon will send its rocket systems to Kiev for the first time since July to increase the number of supplied HIMARS to 20. The US will also supply ammunition and equipment necessary for the Ukrainian troops as part of the new aid package, the news agency reported.

The new military aid package for Kiev will be the first in the current fiscal year that started in the United States on October 1, the Associated Press reported.

US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said on Monday that the United States was set to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine that would include systems earlier supplied to Kiev. He gave no other details.

The Pentagon announced last week that the United States had allocated a new $1.1 billion military aid package for Ukraine that included 18 HIMARS rocket systems and 150 Humvee armored cross country vehicles. The package was intended for several years, it specified.
