India: Rains bring viral and bacterial infections, three kids die in Kanpur

Kanpur: Viral and bacterial infections are increasing during the rainy season. In the OPD of Paediatric Hospital, there was a line of patients suffering from fever, pneumonia and diarrhoea.

Similarly, patients with fever and viral infection with symptoms of dengue came more to the OPD of Medicine Department. In addition, three children died of pneumonia, as has been reported.

In the paediatric ICU of the maternity wing, 20 children are put on ventilators. The patients developed pneumonia after a viral infection.

Dr Yashwant Rao, Head of the Pediatrics Department of GSVM Medical College said that at present 157 patients are admitted to the hospital.

As many as 20 patients have been put on ventilators in a critical condition.

He told that due to viral infection, pneumonia and encephalitis are being caused.

A child has symptoms of dengue. His sample has been sent for examination. Similarly, patients with viral fever are coming to the medical department.

Meanwhile, patients with encephalitis are being treated in critical condition.

One and a half year old child of Naubasta and two year old child of Kalyanpur  we're reportedly died of pneumonia. Samples of 12 patients from OPD were sent for dengue test, as reported.
