Jammu, May 21 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, a senior police officer said.
Ganesh Singh, a resident of Chourakote-Bhomag, was arrested by the special team after a series of raids, Senior superintendent of police, Reasi, Amit Gupta said.
Gupta had constituted the team following a written complaint by a man on May 5, stating that her 17-year-old daughter was allegedly raped by someone.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Reasi Police Station, the officer said.
The SSP said the case will be investigated thoroughly and the chargesheet against the accused will be produced in the court of law within stipulated time.
