Australian senator called ‘human garbage’ after ‘disgusting’ statement on Mosque attack

 Fraser Anning

Senator Fraser Anning from Queensland, Australia, has caused widespread outrage after releasing a statement on the New Zealand Mosques killings that resulted 49 deaths so far.

Anning’s statement has been slammed as “disgusting”, “reprehensible”, and an attempt at “blaming the victims”. Another Australian politician, Martin Pakula, slammed Fraser Anning as “human garbage”.

In his statement Anning wrote, “The real cause of the bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”

Anning called Islam a “violent ideology”, “the religious equivalent of fascism”, and a “savage belief” system, and said that while Muslims “may be the victims today”, they are usually “the perpetrators”, and “are killing people in the name of their faith”.

According to The Citizen, the controversial senator has caused outrage various times in the past. He has called farm murders in South Africa evidence of the start of a “white genocide” and called those responsible “subhuman”, attended fascist far-right rallies, and – borrowing a phrase made infamous by Adolf Hitler – called for a “final solution” to Australia’s immigration problem.

A petition Australian Prime Minister asking “to expel” Anning received about 50,000 signatures within couple of hours. The Petition reads as follows;

Senator Fraser Anning has no place in the government of our democratic and multicultural country.  We request that he be expelled from his position as Senator, and investigated by law enforcement agencies for supporting right wing terrorism.

- Today, 40 innocent people were slaughtered in their place of worship.  Fraser Anning, under the banner of Senator, made multiple offensive statements about this attack.  He said ‘The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program that allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place’.  And ‘Today’s shootings in Christchurch highlight the growing fears within our community in both Australia and New Zealand over the increasing Muslim presence.’

- Fraser Anning referenced ‘The Final Solution’ in his maiden speech to parliament.  A direct reference to genocide during WW2.

- Fraser Anning was elected on dishonest grounds.  He received the position of Senator based on his inclusion in One Nation.  He resigned from One Nation within an hour of being elected.

We call on the Australian government to expel this man who blames victims for their own violent deaths, and uses references to genocide to further his hateful agenda.  There is no place in Australian government for Neo-Nazis.  There is no place for bigotry.  There is no place for hate speech.
