Indian Institute of Technology to speed up research on cyber security

KANPUR: City’s Indian Institute of Technology will speed up research works on cybersecurity. Intricate technological complexities of those companies going to set up at the state’s six defence corridors will also be given proper study at the Centre of Excellence in Defence Technology here.

This centre is ready for starting its research initiatives at the Institute. Advanced Know-how for the CRPF personnel will also be developed here.

In the month of November last year, Anupama Kulshreshtra, IG, CRPF met Prof Sandeep Shukla, Head, Computer Science Dept, IIT. She conducted detailed talks and remained influenced by the research works on controlling cyber attacks.

It was quite apparent that the high tech lab will minimise the dependence on the foreign tools for the manufacture of the small weapons. The Institute will work as the hub of the defence corridor. Tools for aircraft, tank, rocket launcher and other weapons will be manufactured here.

This will also pave the way for a start-up business. Small manufacturing centres will thus prop up. A special dress for the soldiers saving them from deep cold weather, telescope, special boots, and other devices will also be prepared after thorough research and design.

IIT cyber security cell will strengthen UP-100 surveillance. There is a plan to set up a cyber lab.
