Kanpur: Dr.Shalini Mohan, associate professor in eye department of GSVM College has tendered his resignation. The principal Prof. RB Kamal has said his resignation letter has been forwarded to the administration.
Being an expert hand in the treatment of Glaucoma, she was in-charge of eye bank. She was also known for the cornea transplant which is performed to remove blindness.
She had earlier resigned too but the seniors persuaded her to withdraw.
Though her resignation has yet not been accepted, she wishes to contest Malhani assembly seat in Jaunpur. The by-election is due to be taken on November 3.
It has yet not been confirmed that which political party would she fight the election.
News reports say it could either be SP or BJP. The seat has fallen vacant due to death of the previously elected candidate, Parasnath Yadav of Samajwadi Party.
