India: Gangman's notice saves accident

KANPUR: It was once again the gang man’s alertness helped avert the train accident near Ajgain railway station on Lucknow-Kanpur track route. While attentively patrolling along the railway tracks one gang man observed crack on the track at about 6.25 am on Saturday morning.

Informing the control room about this rupture he made the MEMU arriving from Lucknow stop. Though the officials concerned facilitated a few trains pass on the route by applying caution, they had to block the route in the noon. Following repairing of the track the track was opened for movement of the trains.

The railway officials maintained if the Gomti Express would have been running in the speed, it could have been ploughed into.
