India: Rs 2 crore allotted for stray cow foodder

KANPUR: The state government has sanctioned a budget of Rs two crore for the upkeep of the stray cows in the municipal corporation’s precincts.

The Nagar Nigam would enter into a contract with the city’s cow sheds including Bhauti’s cowshed for proper preservation of the cows.

A cost of thirty rupees per cow has been arranged for the fodder, which comes to about five kilograms once in a day. This will not only help cows from diseases but also maintain the milch animals’ health.
