27 Feb 2020; MEMO: The Russian Foreign Ministry ruled out the possibility of achieving a permanent settlement in the Middle East as a result of the US drafted Middle East “peace plan” to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict dubbed the “deal of the century”.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said: “The instability between Israel and Palestine is one of the main factors for instability in the region.”
He added that the plan drafted by the United States is “unlikely to bring” settlement in the Middle East.
Announced at the end of January, the deal has been seen to give Israel everything it wants while providing Palestinians with an entity less than a state, which would remain dependent on Israel and which would not have Jerusalem as its capital.
