India: Drive against adulterated foods

KANPUR: In view of the approaching Diwali festival, the Food safety department launched a drive against the sale of adulterated items in city areas.

As many as seven teams conducted raids on the sweet shops and the eateries respectively. There were also collected samples in the course of the drive. Besides, as many as 65 kgs of khoya were also trashed at Ghantaghar area.  

When the team reached the khoya mandi in Darshanpurwa, certain shopkeepers fled in fear. Sufficient quantity of adulterated khoya was also seized.  The officials even sealed the shops.
