Pakistan Earns Over 892 Million USD From IT Exports In First Five Months Of FY 2023-24

ISLAMABAD, Jan 1 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan earned 892.972 million U.S. dollars through IT exports in Jul-Nov, the first five months of the ongoing fiscal year 2023-24, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said, yesterday.

On a year-on-year basis, the sector saw a 4.45 percent growth, as compared to 854.918 million U.S. dollars recorded during the corresponding months of fiscal year 2022-23, the bureau said.

Among the computer services, the exports of software consultancy witnessed an increase of 93.76 percent, whereas the hardware consultancy surged by 1.13 percent during the cited period, as compared to the same period of fiscal year 2022-23, the bureau added.

The exports of information services during the months under review dipped by 25.18 percent from a year earlier, the bureau added.

The exports of repair and maintenance services increased by 3.16 percent, whereas the exports and imports of computer software services surged by 4.01 percent year on year, the PBS stated.

Among information services, the exports of information-related services increased by 21.04 percent, whereas the telecommunication services increased by 4.45 percent during the months under review.

Among telecommunication services, the exports of call centre services increased by 8.84 percent during the months, while the exports of other telecommunication services, witnessed a nominal decrease of 0.88 percent, the PBS data revealed.
