PHNOM PENH, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and 18 others got injured after their pickup truck overturned on the road down from the Kulen Mountain in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province on Monday, a local police chief said.
The truck was carrying a troupe, which rode the truck down the mountain after finishing a performance at the mountaintop pagoda, said Yip Yungchheang, police chief of Svay Leu district.
"Six people, including two women, were pronounced dead and 18 others sustained injuries in the accident," he said in a report released to the media, adding that the injured had been rushed to a district hospital after the crash.
Overweight load and negligent driving were blamed for the fatal accident, he said.
Kulen Mountain, known for its waterfalls and a Buddhist pagoda at the mountaintop, is located about 70 km east of the famed Angkor Archeological Park in Siem Reap province.
