MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 11,277 over the past day to 22,189,988, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Tuesday.
A day earlier, 12,076 daily cases were recorded.
As many as 1,830 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, up 186.4% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients decreased in ten regions, while in 71 regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in four regions. A day earlier, 639 people were rushed to hospitals.
Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 1,821 over the past day versus 1,940 cases a day earlier, reaching 3,403,251, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 1,253 over the past day versus 1,412 a day earlier, reaching 1,869,697.
COVID-19 recoveries
Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 13,994 over the past day, reaching 21,527,201, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Tuesday.
A day earlier some 8,398 patients recovered.
COVID-19 death toll
Russia’s COVID-19 death toll rose by 38 over the past day, reaching 395,867, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Tuesday.
A day earlier 30 COVID-19 deaths were registered.
Health Minister’s comment
The COVID-19 situation in Russia is improving, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said at Gostiny Dvor on Tuesday.
"On the whole, the situation is improving. [Everything] depends on our behavior," he said when asked about the status of the pandemic.
