KANPUR: She came; she talked and left for Fatehpur. But her brief stay amidst the party men inspired a new spirit among them. She did not appear tired in addressing separate meeting for both the parliamentary seats. When there was request for one single public meeting she even suggested them to organize separate meetings for both the seats between Apr 22 and 26. She did neither let them down for face to face talk nor accepting their request for public meeting.
City Congress Chief Harprakash Agnihotri requested for a public meeting in Kanpur thay was accepted by Priyanka Gandhi after her stoppage at the airport. She was on her way to Fatehpur, a traditional citadel of the Congress. Senior party leaders and the party workers in large numbers were present to welcome her. She accepted their bouquets in smiling stance. She made them known of her involvement in the party’s electioneering. She wanted their participation in the party’s success similarly.
Arriving in the afternoon at the airport, she held detailed talks about the political trends and moods of the voters at the two LS seats. Both the constituencies’ contestants besides Suhail Ansari, MLA, Sanjiv Dariyabadi, ex-MLA and various others were present on the airport.
One INTUC leader suddenly fell down on the ground due to intense heat. It was as if he was unconscious. So she hastened to arrange ambulance for sending him to the hospital for required treatment.
The Special Protection Guards stopped the party workers outside the airport so they started raising slogans. Thereupon she came forward and met them. This was enough for them and they pappreciated her gesture. The party workers were overheard saying INTUC leader pretended to show his unconscious posture in order to gather media attention. However, it cannot be wholly correct.
