India: Youth murdered, body burnt, dumped at Delhi-Kanpur road

Kanpur: An unknown youngster was brutally murdered and his corpse was set on fire. It was reportedly dumped on the side of the Delhi-Kanpur highway.

The incident took place at around 10 p.m. on February 28. The body was set ablaze to erase his identity.

Upon seeing the fire on the side of the Highway, passersby informed the police.

The incident happened near the Yashoda nagar crossroad in the Naubasta area.

After setting the body on fire to hide his identity, the killers fled from the scene.

When people saw the fire burning near the crossroad, they rushed on the spot and started pouring water upon it.

When the flames subsided, a corpse was seen, as news reported.

Soon after, the police were informed. Upon primary inspection, it looked like the victim's face was repeatedly hit with a brick.

Joint commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the body has not yet been identified. "After collecting all the evidence, we will reveal the identity of the killers," he said.
