TALUQAN, Afghanistan, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested a man on a charge of killing a child in Afghanistan's northern Takhar province, local official Mawlawi Ansarullah Ansari said Monday.
A child was killed in Rustaq district of Takhar province four days ago and police arrested the alleged murderer on Sunday, the official added.
The motive behind the brutal killing could be family enmity, the official said, adding an investigation into the case has been initiated.
Similarly, police have arrested five people charged with involvement in criminal activities in the western Nimroz province, a statement of provincial police said Monday.
