India: IIT-K evaluates detailed project report of ICCC

Kanpur: Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) will help improve traffic flow, pick up traffic violations and control pollution in the cities, besides a host of other services and utilities.

There are 10 smart cities declared by the Centre, while the state government has named seven cities of the state as smart cities.

Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Jhansi, Bareli, Saharanpur, and Moradabad figure on the list of smart cities in the centre's list.

The districts of Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Firozabad, Mathura, and Ghaziabad come under list of state.

Notably, the IIT-Kanpur reviewed the detailed project report of the Integrated Command Control Centre at the request of the urban development department.

As the upcoming cloud-based command centre, one of the largest units of its kind in Northern India, will help in the integration of various smart elements in the listed cities.

Installation of smart street lights, environment sensors, city surveillance systems, intelligent traffic management systems and solar-powered cells are comprised into its scope.

Provisions such as e-governance, e-health, house tax collection, complaint portal and GIS System among others will also be carried.
