KANPUR: The reel scene was that Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the role of a police inspector arrives at the Hallet Hospital and enquires the well-being of the unreal patients. The location was genuine and real so there was the continuous entry of the real patients at the government hospital.
What caused a problem during the shooting was an incessant delay in pack up and scene-repetition takes? The crew, the patients and the bystanders caused crowd around the hospital. The gate got completely jam-packed and genuine patients remained under a harrowing experience.
Although the crew was allowed to carry on shooting between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. yet it continued the camera capturing the perfection in action beyond the given time. There were innumerable retakes and it even caused worry to the hospital administration. The shooting was reported to have continued ahead of the allotted duration. It even crossed after 10.30 a.m. The directors need to adjust changes quickly and make decisions promptly so the retakes for perfection continues.
Even an ambulance got stuck into the crowd converged at the hospital’s gate. The vehicles parked near the gate reduced the road’s width. There were parked several vehicles of the spectators. The crowd was unmanageable as such events happen infrequently. This led an ambulance stuck into the jam. Acting promptly on this situation the hospital authorities ordered stoppage of the shooting.
The real patients were at unease as their check-up and X-ray and ultrasound tests became difficult. Certain patients were seen leaving the stretcher to go to the radiology department rooms for those kinds of tests. Dr V Malhotra even stumbled but she was soon extended help by the hospital staff present on the occasion.
The shooting of the film ‘Raat Akeli Hai’ was continued at Bitthoor and Ganga Barrage also. People were enthusiastic to see the shooting. The bouncers dealt with the surging crowd. It continued at the Kotwali area on Sunday.
