KANPUR: A young girl was strangulated to death in Panki area. Her dead body was found in a field existing about 200-meters away from the house on Wednesday morning.
An 18-yr-old girl was a B. Com (first year) student at a degree college in Tikra. She has been living with her mother and three brothers. Her father was no more alive. It was reported that all the members in the family were busy in collecting the yield of sarson crop on Tuesday evening. She proceeded for her house with the purpose of cooking food at 4 p.m. but did not reach. Disturbed with her absence the family members made a frantic search for her but her whereabouts could not be ascertained. When the family once again began a search on Wednesday the morning her body was found in another field.
The dupatta was wrapped into her throat. One side of cloth was tied with left foot. Lips were profusely swelled and the nose was bleeding. Her frayed clothes were suggesting molestation. The Forensic team recovered shawl, slipper and steel box at about 25 metres away from the spot. It was being presumed that she was out for nature’s call. It was during that time she was caught and an altercation ensued. Later the murder was committed.
The Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjeev Suman said that investigation process was underway. Meanwhile, the brothers doubted a youth in the village threatened her of dire consequences following the dispute with her last year.
