NEW YORK, April 10 (Xinhua) -- The COVID-19 hospitalizations in New York State dropped to 4,241 on Friday, compared with 4,351 one day earlier, tweeted Governor Andrew Cuomo on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the single-day COVID-19 test positivity rate went down to 2.79 percent on Friday from 2.96 percent on Thursday, he said, adding that there were 57 COVID-19 deaths in the state on Friday, compared with 56 one day earlier.
In another tweet on Saturday, Cuomo said that "36.9% of New Yorkers have received at least one vaccine dose and 23.9% have completed their vaccine series. 282,305 total doses were administered over the past 24 hours. 11,669,171 total doses administered to date."
As of Saturday afternoon, the total COVID-19 deaths in New York State were reported at 50,977, the second worst in the country following the state of California with a death toll of 60,286, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
