KANPUR: A very heart-rending accident took place at Coca-Cola crossing here on Monday morning. The uncontrolled truck jumped at the speed breaker and directly pierced into the divider on the road. The people tried to pull the blood-soaked driver and the two cleaners who were entangled into the pipe laden on the truck. Police anyhow pulled them out and sent them to the hospital for the treatment. Unfortunately, the driver died after the accident.
The truck loaded with the pipe was heading towards Fazalganj from Rawatpur. Eye-witness said the moment truck came over the speed-breaker in the high speed, it jumped badly and piercing into the divider hit it forcefully. The vehicle came out of the divider after breaking its cabin. The accident was so fierce as the vehicles stopped in the second lane. The driver had already died on the spot. In the meantime, Nazirabad police sent the injured cleaners at the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital. The crane was used for removing the damaged truck from the GT Road so that the traffic could be moved.
Inspector Satish Sahu said the driver was identified as Kehar Singh (27 years) r/o Bhainsau village of Shivrajpur police station. He also added that his relatives were informed and the identity of the truck owner was also being traced.
