KANPUR: Two cases of swindling have been reported. One man was swindled in Maharajpur of Sarsaul Block while a Munshi’s bag was divested of money in Cooper Ganj here.
Two boys standing outside the Punjab National Bank at Prempur of Maharajganj village deceived a man Dharmendra Kumar when he returned from the bank after withdrawing a cash amount of Rs 14000. He had already possessed Rs 16000. The boys duped him with trickery. They assured to give him currency notes of Rs one lakh in case he hands over his money to them. As soon as he puts forward the total amount of Rs 30,000 they presented him a bundle of currency notes. When he started checking the wad of currency note it was to his utter amazement found counterfeit.
In another incident, one Munshi of Sri Krishna Enterprises headed towards Canal Road for depositing some amount of money in a bank. The criminals duped him too. The owner Anup Singh called his Munshi Bindeshwari Prasad at his house in Yasoda Nagar and asked him to deposit Rs 60,000 in the bank. He boarded an e-rickshaw to reach Collectorganj. Near Deputy Ka Padav one boy sitting in the rickshaw tried to step down and flee. Just then he checked his bag which was ripped apart. Finding his money stolen he ran towards the running boy. His accomplice driving motorcycle fired in the air. Upon getting the information the police arrived at Collectorganj and Raipurwa and termed it a case of swindling.
