KANPUR: Though power consumption has reduced with the onset of wintry weather, KESCO has chalked out a plan to change rickety electricity lines in different divisions. It has undertaken the work in Hanspuram and Kalyanpuram divisions respectively.
In the first phase, there will be changed 33KV lines up to a length of 25 kms and six kilometres new line will be stretched out. On another hand, 11 KV power lines up to 130 Kms will be changed. With it, new electricity line up to 45 kms will also be stretched. In addition to this, as many as 35 kms LT lines will also be changed.
This will not only lessen power tripping but also minimise accidents. Rickety electricity lines will also be changed in other divisions soon, said KESCO officer.
