India: City's metro projects move with fast pace

Kanpur: Will denizens find themselves moving in the metro in the coming years? This is a big question storming the minds of the people here. As we are well aware of the fact that the metro's first initial phase will cover areas coming between IIT and Motijheel, the work on the project corridor moves ahead with a swift pace. This is being efficiently and effectively supervised by the UP Metro Rail Corporation.

What has been done since the start of the civil construction work on Nov 15, 2019, there has been completed three piers and support work on six other piers is also nearing. Plus these reinforcement tasks, the required work on casting of U-shaped girders particularly for the viaduct will begin shortly. Preparations for U-girder casting are reported to have been reaching in the last conclusive stage.

Officers attending to the metro work here are laying enough emphasis on even flow of the traffic along with the roads. More importantly, they do not want to miss any opportunity in keeping the project sites cleaner from the aspect of Swachhta.

When the city roads are ridden with the potholes, the metro projects will prove to be a better means of fast transportation in the business city.
