PAK: World needs to explore economic potential of digitalization: EU Envoy

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): European Union Ambassador to Pakistan, Androulla Kaminara Sunday said that the world needed to explore economic potential of digitalization as it had changed the working of the Global system due to its multi-dimensional impacts, including time efficiency and accuracy.

She said digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) had changed the world pattern of working and it was more importance of using technology for people to create a fair and competitive economy, as well as an open, democratic and sustainable society.

17 Indian fishermen held by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency

Ahmedabad, Feb 13 (PTI) Seventeen Indian fishermen have been apprehended by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) in the Arabian Sea, an official of a fishermen's association claimed on Saturday.

The PMSA also seized their three boats for allegedly entering Pakistani waters two days ago, said Manish Lodhari, secretary of National Fishworkers' Forum.

Two boats from Porbandar and one from Veraval in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat had sailed with 17 fishermen over a week ago, he said.

Pakistan lab expects Sputnik V doses for commercial sale in a week

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A Pakistani lab will soon receive Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine for commercial sale, a company official said on Sunday, making Pakistan one of the first countries to market shots privately as it scrambles to secure supplies.

Despite concerns over fairness and higher prices, Islamabad agreed this week to allow the commercial import and sale of vaccines without price caps, in contrast to most countries, which are importing and administering vaccines through government channels.

Pakistan: Regional peace impossible till end of genocide in IIOJK: AJK President

MIRPUR (AJK): Feb 13 (APP): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has stressed that peace and stability cannot prevail in the region without cessation of genocide and crimes against humanity in the illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

“It is the moral obligation of everyone to raise voice to save the Kashmiri people from the scourge of impending annihilation en masse,” he said.

Russia, NATO forces participate in Pakistan-hosted military drill

12 Feb 2021; MEMO: Pakistan is hosting naval forces from 45 countries, including those from Russia and NATO, for the week-long Aman-2021 maritime exercise in the Arabian Sea.

The Pakistan Navy said the naval exercise, held under the slogan "Together for Peace", will run until 16 February.

It added that the drill is aimed at "fostering international cooperation to fight piracy, terrorism, and other crimes," according to Anadolu Agency.

Pakistan: “Pleased” over Biden admin’s unchanged Kashmir policy: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Friday expressed his pleasure over the clarification by the United States that there had been no change in their policy on Kashmir as they still considered it a disputed territory.

The foreign minister, in a statement, said that Pakistan immediately presented its stance following a State Department’s tweet.

Pakistan: Indian activist’s computer hacked to insert incriminating letters on Modi murder plot

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP): Coming to a new low, the Narendra Modi’s government falsely incriminated a writer-activist Rona Jacob Wilson and others for Modi’s assassination plot, by hacking his computer and inserting fake documents.

Arrested in June 2018, in Bhima-Koregaon case, Rona Wilson and others have been charged of plotting to assassinate Modi.

Initially, the case involved violence at Koregaon Bhima on the outskirts of Pune, where members of the Dalit community had gathered on December 31, to celebrate what they called a historic victory over Maratha Peshwas.

Pakistan Conducts Training Launch Of Cruise Missile: Army

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan yesterday conducted a successful training launch of a cruise missile, with a range of 450 km, the Pakistani military said.

An army statement said that, the Babur cruise missile is capable of engaging targets, at land and sea, with high precision.

“The missile was launched from a state-of-the-art, Multi-Tube Missile Launch Vehicle,” the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations said, in a statement.

Pakistan notes with ‘disappointment’ U.S. State Dept’s “inconsistent reference of Kashmir’s disputed status”

ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (APP): Pakistan on Thursday expressed “disappointment” over a tweet by U.S. State Department for making a reference regarding Jammu and Kashmir “inconsistent” with its disputed status.

The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, US State Department in its tweet dated February 10 had mentioned the reference as “India’s Jammu & Kashmir” while welcoming the resumption of 4G services.

Pakistan: AJK President demands Int’l tribunal to hold trial of Modi for war crimes in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD, Feb 8 (APP): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan Monday demanded an international tribunal to hold trial of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for war crimes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

“If the cronies of fascist dictators like Hitler, the Italian dictator Mussolini, and Milosevic of Yugoslavia can be tried and awarded severe punishments for committing war crimes, why Modi and his partners cannot be tried for their involvement in the same crimes,” he questioned.
