ISLAMABAD, Apr 07 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to expeditiously conclude the requisite legal process for the “Pakistan Stream” (North-South) Gas Pipeline project and commence the work as early as possible.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, who called on him here.

Pakistan-Russia bilateral relations and issues of regional and global importance were discussed in the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday met Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and the country’s army chief for talks on the troubled peace process in Afghanistan, where both countries have long histories of involvement.

It was the first time a Russian foreign minister had visited Pakistan in nine years and comes at a sensitive time for neighbouring Afghanistan with peace talks making little headway and a deadline looming for the United States to withdraw its forces.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 04 (APP): Pakistan on Monday expressing solidarity with the Kingdom of Jordon said it stood in solidarity with the Kingdom, led by King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussain.

“Pakistan is following the situation in Jordan. We stand in solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein,” Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in a statement issued here.

“Pakistan fully supports the right of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordon to preserve its security, stability and sovereignty,” the Spokesperson added.

ISLAMABAD, April 5 (APP): Pakistan on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives as a launch carrying passengers capsized in Bangladesh’s Shitalakkhya river. 

“Deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in a launch capsize in Shitalakkhya River, Bangladesh,” the Foreign Office said in a tweet.

The Foreign Office expressed condolences to the government and people of Bangladesh on the tragic incident.

“Heartfelt condolences to the government and brotherly people of Bangladesh and the bereaved families,” the Foreign Office said.

MULTAN, Apr 03 (APP): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi said that there would be no trade with India till restoration of Kashmir’s special status which was illegally removed by India on 5th August 2019.

Talking to different delegations of local people during his visit of NA 156/157 constituencies here on Saturday, FM Qureshi said that bilateral relations of Pakistan and India were not normal.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan’s cabinet on Thursday put on hold a decision made by the country’s top economic decision-making body to allow imports of cotton and sugar from neighbouring India until Delhi reviews its 2019 move to revoke the Kashmir region’s special status, the foreign minister said.

In an effort to cool local demand and prices, Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Wednesday gave the go-ahead for the imports, which was to have ended nearly two years of trade suspension between the nuclear-armed rivals.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 31 (APP): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Wednesday said immense opportunities existed between Pakistan and Tajikistan to further enhance bilateral trade ties and cooperation in multi-dimensional fields.

He called on Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon at the Presidential Palace in Dushanbe, a press release said.

The foreign minister expressed that top leadership of the two brotherly countries were determined to further solidify and expand these bilateral ties.
