Pakistan denies visa to Indian diplomat

New Delhi, Sep 20 (PTI) Pakistan has denied visa to senior diplomat Jayant Khobragade who was set to be appointed as acting head of Indian High Commission in Islamabad, people familiar with the development said on Sunday.

It is learnt that Pakistan did not approve his visa on the grounds that he is too senior for the post.

The people said Pakistan was conveyed by India in June about its move to send Khobragade as India's deputy high commissioner to that country.

Pakistan reports 640 new COVID-19 cases

Islamabad, Sep 20 (PTI) Pakistan's number coronavirus cases reached 305,671 on Sunday after 640 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.

One patient died during the period, taking the number of COVID-19 fatalities to 6,416.

A total of 292,303 people have recovered from the infection and at least 562 are in critical condition, the Ministry of National Health Services said.

Pakistan: Normalisation with Israel ‘pointless’

“We can’t make a decision on a matter that has been rejected by its owners, the Palestinian people,” Khan told reporters. “The Palestinians, the owners of the cause, were deprived from their lands and rights,” he added.

India violated SCO rule by bringing bilateral matter at regional forum: FM

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said India was losing credibility at all international fora as it violated the principle of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on bringing bilateral matter to the platform.

In response to objection of India against Pakistan during the online meeting of SCO National Security Advisers yesterday, the Foreign Minister said the attempt ended in humiliation of the former as rejected by the forum, which was meant to address regional issues.

PAF aircraft crashes during routine training; pilot ejects safely

Lahore, Sep 15 (PTI) A Pakistan Air Force aircraft on Tuesday crashed during a routine training mission, while its pilot ejected safely in Punjab province's Attock district, making it a fifth such incident this year, according to media reports.

A statement by the air force said that no loss of life or property was reported at the site and the pilot ejected safely before the crash in Pindigheb area of the district, Geo TV reported.

Pakistani Army Chief, U.S. Special Envoy Hold Talks On Afghan Peace Process

ISLAMABAD, Sept 15 (NNN-PPI) – Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, met with visiting U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, in Rawalpindi yesterday and discussed matters related to the Afghan peace process.

Khalilzad arrived in Pakistan, following the start of intra-Afghan negotiations in Qatar, that are aimed at deciding the future political system in Afghanistan, and to end the war.

Pakistan: Terrorist commander amid 3 members killed in IBO near North, South Waziristan boundary

RAWALPINDI, Sep 13 (APP): Terrorist commander, Ihsan Ullah alias Ihsan Sanray along with three other terrorists was killed on Sunday during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Ghariom, Shaktu near the inter district boundary of North and South Waziristan.

Ihsan Sanray masterminded numerous terrorist activities where his successful execution in the IBO was termed as a major breakthrough in a tweet by Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar.

As Afghan peace talks begin, Pakistan cautions against spoilers, repeating past mistakes

ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (APP): As the historic Afghan peace talks begin Saturday in Doha to end decades-old war, Pakistan warned the international community against the role of spoilers poised to impair the hard-earned process.

Addressing the opening session of Afghan peace talks through video link, the foreign minister termed the commencement of peace talks a global recognition of Pakistan’s stance of no-military solution to Afghan dispute rather a political solution being only a way forward.
