Olympic flame lit in Ancient Olympia, kicking off 2024 Paris Summer Games journey

ANCIENT OLYMPIA /Greece/, April 16. /TASS/. The ceremonial lighting of the Olympic flame for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris has taken place in Ancient Olympia, a TASS correspondent reports from the scene.

In attendance at the ceremony were Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach, President of the Greek National Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos and other officials.

Turkiye and Italy will host Euro 2032; UEFA

According to the report, the two countries had started as individual bidders but decided to join forces and submitted a joint bid to stage the competition.

UEFA also confirmed on Tuesday that Ireland and the UK will host Euro 2028, the report added.

“For the first time, an Israeli delegation of weightlifters will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the World Weightlifting Championships (WWC) which began on Sunday,” Israel24 said.

Neymar to join Saudi team Al Hilal in $110m deal

15 August 2023; MEMO: The Saudi football club Al Hilal has reached an agreement with French-Brazilian star Neymar, Saudi state media reported yesterday.

According to the Spanish newspaper Sport, the Paris St-Germain (PSG) player will undergo a medical examination in Paris, in preparation for signing his contract with the Saudi club.

The Spanish newspaper added that Al Hilal will present the Neymar deal next Wednesday at a remarkable event in Riyadh.
