India: Dist admin alerts on impending storm

KANPUR: In view of the Fani cyclone, the district administration has prepared itself to deal with any untoward situation. There is a possibility of high-speed air raging; it can be raged at the speed of even 40 Km/per hour, hail storms, and heavy rains. An alert has been sounded in the city areas. The district magistrate Vijay V Pant said if need be the army’s help will be taken. All the departments have been alerted to face emergency situation due to the impending whirlwind.  Further, the Nagar Ayukt Santosh Kumar Sharma said there was undertaken a survey of dilapidated buildings. Along with this the hoardings and banners were also being removed from high-rise buildings. Various teams have been formed for help.

Even notices are being served to the residents staying in decrepit structures. The banners and hoardings are being eradicated for safety purposes. People have warned to keep themselves at distance from tin- shed. The Municipal Corporation has kept tractor, trolley, JCB and loader on watchful mode. Ample arrangements to take the emergency under control have been chalked out. The residents were told to store extra water in their respective houses. They should remember the emergency phone number of Nagar Nigam, Police, Fire Brigade, Medical emergency, Ambulance, and Kesco. They should also remove those things which would fly away in a storm. The people should avoid going to the open space.
