KABUL, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan received another fresh batch of 40 million U.S. dollars in cash as humanitarian aid late on Monday, the country's central bank, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), said in a statement released here Tuesday.
"As part of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, 40 million U.S. dollars in cash arrived in Kabul yesterday (Aug. 29) and was transferred to one of the country's commercial banks," DAB said in the statement.
Thanking the donor nations over sending the cash to the war-torn country, DAB in its statement also asked for facilitating good banking relations with Afghanistan.
The last package of cash humanitarian aid provided to Afghanistan was also 40 million U.S. dollars, which arrived in the cash-stripped country couple of weeks ago and deposited to the private Afghanistan International Bank, raising the country's foreign exchange reserve to nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars.
