Honk Kong machine to work on underground corridor in Kanpur

Kanpur: Underground Metro Corridor-2 (Chunniganj to Phulbagh/Nayaganj's Bada Chauraha) metro station's launching shaft (from where the tunnel boring machine goes under the ground) has been completed.

From here the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) will go under the ground.

These machines, which came from Hong Kong and Lucknow, after making the track of the Up-Down line up to Phulbagh / Nayaganj, will be retrieved from there and will be relaunched at British India Corporation (BIC), Chunniganj.

It is likely to be launched in early June at Bada Chauraha.

Due to less space for construction in Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha and Phulbagh / Nayaganj Corridor, metro stations will be built here with a different technology from Lucknow Metro.

Till now the construction of the track was undertaken with the TBM technique. The construction of the station has been done by digging from top to bottom.

There is a preparation to start construction work from TBM till near the station.

The machine has reached Kanpur from Hong Kong for the underground corridor.

Metro officials have prepared the complete plan. Soon this machine will be launched and then after launching it will come out from the other end only after making a tunnel.
