Israel is not ready for 'multifront war', ex-army general says

Yitzhak Brick

08 Nov 2021; MEMO: "Israeli army is not ready for a multifront war," retired Israeli Army Major General, Yitzhak Brick, said yesterday.

According to Megafon News website, Brick stressed that the next war Israel is potentially facing "will be internal", expecting the amount of destruction and losses from the next war to be very large.

"In our current situation, in the next war, there will be no turning back unless we do our utmost to save ourselves from ourselves," he said, expecting a "disaster" that would happen in any coming war.

"Why is it impossible to change direction; to establish a pre-war commission of inquiry to correct, deal with and prevent a catastrophe from which there is no return?" he asked.

"It all begins and ends with a corrupt organisational, managerial and leadership culture in the Israeli army."

The retired Israeli army veteran stressed that it is impossible to build a "victorious army" on such "dilapidated and crumbling foundations."

"The home front and vital facilities will be attacked from Lebanon, Syria and Gaza during the next war with thousands of precision missiles," he said, adding this is "not a prophecy of anger, this is the truth."
