KANPUR: City’s Naman Gupta has secured top position in the Joint Entrance Examination Main, 2019 with 100 percentile in Uttar Pradesh. His ranking stands sixth in the country. He is obviously one successful candidate among all those top 15 candidates with hundred per cent marks at the national level.
A bright student Naman Gupta was not so confident of his results but the success has infused extra confidence in him. Now he plans to complete B.Tech in Computer Science from either Mumbai or Delhi IIT after clearing the JEE Advanced examinations.
Son of a Loco pilot in railways, he resides at Darshan Purwa locality. He attributes credits of his remarkable success to the parents and the teachers.
JEE is the national level undergraduate engineering examination. The entrance exam is the gateway for the admission to various B.Tech/ B.E, programmes offered by 31 NITs, 23 IITs, and 23 CFTIs. From this year onwards this exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency twice a year in a computer-based mode only.
