Three Injured As Blast Hits Police Van In Afghanistan’s Eastern Nangarhar

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Jan 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Three policemen were injured, as a blast struck a police vehicle, in the Surkh Rod district of the eastern Nangarhar province today, provincial police spokesman, Farid Khan, said. The blast took place at around 11:00 a.m. local time.

Targeted killing, mostly in the form of blasts, including those of magnetic bombs, has been on the rise in Afghanistan’s big cities, including the capital city of Kabul.

Similar targeted explosions killed three people, including two policemen, and injured 11 others, including 10 civilians in the Uruzgan province, and injured two policemen in the capital city Kabul, yesterday.

The Afghan government blamed the attacks on Taliban, but the armed group has rejected its involvement in the targeted attacks.
