UAE calls on dialogue to resolve regional tension

ABU DHABI, Jan 9 (NNN-WAM) — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said it was closely following regional developments, and reaffirmed the importance of de-escalating current tensions in the Middle East.

Quoting a statement from the ministry, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the ministry had stressed on the importance of dialogue and political solutions in the current situation.

Meanwhile, it also said the recent developments in the region are not expected to affect citizens, residents, or visitors to the UAE.

All sectors across the country are continuing to operate as normal, it said.

Meanwhile, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has called on national air operators to evaluate flightpath risks that may affect aviation operations.

The GCAA, in a statement, said that it continues to monitor and assess regional developments, and will take all necessary and appropriate measures promptly.
