Kanpur: How strange is it that a PhD scholar at the IIT has been stopped to worship the pipal tree by the guards there. More than this he was told to leave the spot. This hurt the student so much that he expressed his emotional pain on Twitter. Other students also expressed their deep protest at this action.
Though the students complained of this behaviour of the guard to the director Prof Abhai Karandikar, nothing in detail was available so far.
The student along with his friends went near a pipal tree in front of his hostel on Saturday but he was forbidden to worship the tree by the guard. He used strong words so the student returned to his hostel. He detailed the incident to his friends who started making aware of this matter through Whatsapp.
