World leaders in Jerusalem call for struggle against anti-Semitism

JERUSALEM, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of world leaders gathered on Thursday in Jerusalem to commemorate 75 years for the liberation of the Auschwitz camp and called on to combat the resurgence of modern-day anti-Semitism.

More than 40 royalties, presidents, and prime ministers took part in the 5th World Holocaust Forum, held this year in Jerusalem.

The gathering culminated in a ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, where the leaders made speeches pledging to remember the Holocaust and to take measures against the rising of anti-Semitism.

Trump: Mideast peace plan likely rolled out in days

JERUSALEM (AP) — President Donald Trump said Thursday that he’ll likely release his long-awaited Mideast peace plan before his meeting early next week at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main political rival Benny Gantz.

“It’s a great plan. It’s a plan that really would work,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One en route to a Republican Party meeting in Florida.

Israel begins handover of buildings in Jerusalem’s Old City to Russian church — minister

Putin: "Everything will be okay" for U.S.-Israeli woman jailed in Russia

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said during a visit to Israel on Thursday that he had given assurances to the mother of Naama Issachar, a U.S.-Israeli woman jailed in Russia on drug charges, that “everything will be okay” for her daughter.

Israel has called on Russia to release Issachar who was sentenced by a Russian court to seven and a half years in jail on drug offences in October.

The New Jersey-born woman was arrested in April last year after police found nine grams of cannabis in her bags during a stopover at a Moscow airport.

Hamas Condemns Israeli Killing Of Three Palestinian Teens

GAZA, Palestine, Jan 23 (NNN-WAFA) – Hamas, ruler of the Gaza Strip, condemned the killing of three Palestinian teenagers by Israeli army.

Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said that, the killing of the Palestinians “is an awful crime that is strongly condemned.”

“While the occupier (Israel) is receiving world leaders, for the memory of the Holocaust, Israeli tanks murdered three Palestinian young men, on the Gaza border, in cold blood,” said Barhoum.

World leaders rally in Jerusalem against anti-Semitism

JERUSALEM (AP) — Dozens of world leaders descended upon Jerusalem on Thursday for the largest-ever gathering focused on commemorating the Holocaust and combating modern-day anti-Semitism.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, Britain’s Prince Charles, Vice President Mike Pence and the presidents of Germany, Italy and Austria were among the more than 40 dignitaries attending the World Holocaust Forum, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp.
