16 Nov 2021; MEMO: The number of cases of domestic violence against women in Israel jumped sharply from 688 in 2019 to 2,853 in 2020, a 315 per cent spike, the Women's International Zionist Organisation (WIZO) said on Sunday.

Ynet News said WIZO's annual report collected data from government ministries, the State Comptroller's office, Israel Police and the Israel Prison Service.

13 Nov 2021; MEMO: At least three senior officials from Israeli intelligence agency Mossad have resigned over "organisational changes" made by the new director, Israeli Channel 13 reported on Thursday.

According to the Israeli TV channel, the three officials were some of Mossad's most senior officials.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Izzeldin Abuelaish captured widespread sympathy in Israel when he lost three daughters and a niece in an Israeli strike during the 2009 war in the Gaza Strip. Now, the Palestinian doctor is seeking justice in Israel’s highest court.

Abuelaish is scheduled to appear before the Supeme Court in Jerusalem on Monday in hopes of receiving an apology from Israel and compensation for his loss.

10 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas has been trying for months to meet Israeli-Arab MK Mansour Abbas, Israeli media revealed yesterday.

According to Israel's Channel 12 news, Mansour Abbas, who has joined Israel's government coalition, said that there was no time for "controversy" and has refused to meet with the Palestinian president.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Security researchers disclosed Monday that spyware from the notorious Israeli hacker-for-hire company NSO Group was detected on the cellphones of six Palestinian human rights activists, half affiliated with groups that Israel’s defense minister controversially claimed were involved in terrorism.

The revelation marks the first known instance of Palestinian activists being targeted by the military-grade Pegasus spyware. Its use against journalists, rights activists and political dissidents from Mexico to Saudi Arabia has been documented since 2015.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said late Saturday there was no room in Jerusalem for another American mission.

JERUSALEM, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Israeli and Jordanian ministers met in Jordan on Wednesday to discuss deepening bilateral economic ties, the Israeli foreign ministry said in a statement.

In the rare meeting, Israel's Economy Minister Orna Barbivai and Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade Yousef Al Shamali agreed to "strengthen economic ties between the two countries," said the statement.

The ministers discussed a possible update to their bilateral trade agreement and expanding cross-border tourism.
