Russia: Kremlin calls Putin-Kim Jong Un talks 'very informative'

MOSCOW, September 13. /TASS/: The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were very informative, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"On the whole, the talks were very important, very informative. The very fact that Kim Jong Un came here is also a very important event from the point of view of bilateral relations," he said on Channel One, adding that North Korea is interested in the possibilities of cooperation with Russia in the sphere of aviation, transport and infrastructure.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 13. /TASS/: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are scheduled to hold talks in Moscow on September 18, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a briefing on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

"On September 18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are holding talks in Moscow," the diplomat said. "They are due to exchange views on the Ukrainian settlement, as well as on ensuring stability and security in the Asia Pacific Region."

Russians, American cosmonauts will break record for time spent on ISS

MOSCOW, Sept 12 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Russian cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin will break the record for the total time they have spent in the International Space Station (ISS), the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) announced.

According to the space agency, Russian cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov, who has spent 355 days, three hours, 45 minutes, and 21 seconds on the ISS, a feat that he surpassed on Monday, holds the current record.

Hydraulics fault blamed for Russian plane emergency landing in Novosibirsk

Sept 12 (Reuters) - A plane belonging to Russia's Ural Airlines with 167 people aboard and flying from Sochi to Omsk made an emergency landing in western Siberia's Novosibirsk region, Russian agencies reported on Tuesday.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

At a press conference, a Ural Airlines' director said that a hydraulics fault had been to blame.

Putin projects economic calm after rouble slump, warns of inflation risks

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday praised the central bank for keeping a lid on inflation with double-digit interest rates and said there were no insurmountable challenges when it came to limiting the rouble's volatility.

Putin used his speech at Russia's Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok to project a mood of financial calm, just weeks after the rouble's slump past 100 to the dollar led to Kremlin criticism of the bank's monetary policy and, ultimately, a 350-basis-point emergency rate hike to 12%.
